Wes Montgomery - Wes Montgomery Plays The Blues (1988) is a posthumous compilation album by Wes Montgomery, one of the most influential jazz guitarists of the 20th century. Released in 1988, this album highlights Montgomery’s incredible skill and innovation as a guitarist, particularly showcasing his deep connection to the blues. Although this compilation includes material recorded earlier in Montgomery’s career, it serves as an excellent introduction to his unique approach to the guitar, especially his interpretation of the blues within the context of jazz.
