Originally released in 1974 as 2 LP set. Remastered in 2002. Contains 1 bonus track.

IMHO this was the last convincing Chicago album, a dividing line between their early works (when they were considered one of the best instrumental forces of the American progressive scene) and the late 70s & 80s top 10 band. The instrumental tracks are superb and show the technical excellence of these guys, with the soaring woodwind section at their best, the inventive drumming of Danny Seraphine and the impressive job of the late Terry Kath (a great and underrated guitarrist). Listen to the 2 parts of 'Aire', 'Devil´s Sweet', 'Italian From New York' & 'Hanky Panky' and you'll know what I mean. Lyrically the band doesn't shine anymore as they did in the early years but despite of the chart stuff ('I´ve Been Searchin´ So Long', 'Wishing You Were Here' & 'Call On Me') the vocal tracks are great, specially for 'Life Saver', 'Song Of The Evergreens' and 'Women Don´t Want To Love Me'. Highly recommended!.
