The debut album from Gillian Glover, Red Handed, is a poised yet strident collection that manages to stamp her authority on the singer-songwriter genre, while never becoming bogged down by the constraints of the form… Resonating throughout are Glover's powerful vocals; her voice serves as a most decorative centrepiece to her own self-compositions. Red Handed doesn't fall easily into any single category; Glover mixes it up here with some gritty blues, soulful rock and a liberal taste of nu-country.
