Olga Peretyatko, Alberto Zedda - Rossini! (2015)

Olga Peretyatko combines a beautiful and versatile soprano voice with a charming personality and an overwhelming stage presence. Whenever she’s on the stage, she conquers the audience. On her new album, Rossini, the acclaimed soprano sings some of Rossini’s best-known arias. Rossini has played and continues to play a significant role in Peretyatko’s career. It was at the Rossini in Wildbad Festival in 2006 in Italy where she was cast in two pivotal roles in Il Viaggio a Reims – performing the role of Corinna on one night, and Contessa di Folleville on the next – and after the performances, was offered a contract to appear the following year. These are the first two arias on the Rossini album, and they are directly connected to this story and its emotional resonance: it was the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna conducted by Alberto Zedda that accompanied Peretyatko when she made her stunning debut in Italy, and they join her again on this album.
