Saxophonist Steve Wilson developed his fluid style and versatility through years of study, touring and session work with artists like Jon Hendricks, Ellis Marsalis, Don Byron, the Mingus Big Band, Out of the Blue and Frank Foster, though still he perhaps best known as a sideman in Chick Corea's Origins. Heard here in a variety of settings where he plays the alto and the soprano, plus the flute backed by pianist Bruce Barth, trumpeter Nicholas Payton, bassist Ed Howard, and drummer/percussionist Adam Cruz.
