IV is American rock band Winger's first album of new studio material since 1993's Pull. According to frontman Kip Winger, one morning he "just woke up and heard the new Winger record" in his head, knowing just what he wanted to do with it.

13 years after their critically acclaimed last studio effort, “Pull”, WINGER finally present a new studio album. Anyone who thought that the dark and aggressive sound of “Pull” was a one-time-thing might be surprised to see that “IV” continues exactly this direction. So don't expect any polished easy listening stuff in the vein of “Can't Get Enuff” or “Miles Away”, but a mature and serious Melodic Hard Rock album. Many of the new songs need some time till they unfold all their strength. So don't judge this album by one quick run, but spend some time of intensive listening before forming an opinion on it! The album contains some excellent fast paced rockers (“Four Leaf Clover”, “Your Great Escape”, “Livin' Just To Die”, “Short Flight To Mexico”), but its most outstanding tracks are the moody and excellently arranged mid-tempo tune “Blue Suede Shoes” and the deeply melancholic “On A Day Like Today” of which the melody reminds me of today's A-HA. No joke! So if you are looking for a varied and multi-layered Melodic Hard Rock album, then WINGER's “IV” is the perfect choice. ~ Review by Deeandra
