Cha Cha is a fun album, striking a nice balance among camp, good music, and the syncopated "for dancing" beat that spoils many other cha cha albums. The camp part is the chorus, which is heard on only three tracks. Of these, "Arthur, You Should Smile More" is an irresistible, in-joke tribute to the master instructor; it is the only really essential track, but not for any reason associated with Latin music. Another great tune is the cover of Al Castellanos' "Cha Cha Cha at the Harem." Ramon Marquez, another Fiesta artist, is covered in "Clases de Cha Cha Cha." There is also "Cha Cha Baby," a spirited performance in the Francis Bay style, but unfortunately without the zany vocals.
