About the lossy/lossles controversy:
Last week I posted a piece of music as an experiment, it was available in MP3 format as well as FLAC (just one single RAR file for both of them: 30Mb for MP3 and about 90Mb for FLAC) and a PDF for the score. Those file were available for a few days just through Avax. Then I checked the amount of download the files got and I treated it like a poll's result.
Here's the result: The MP3 and the PDF got almost the same amount of DL, the FLAC (please remember it was just one file, so I hope "laziness" is out of question) got a little less than 1/3 of that amount.
I cannot manage both conversion (better, I don't want to): I got a life too. And I'd rather use my time to rip some of my vinyls which in most cases are not available anymore around. I'll left the ethical matters out of it, 'cause I'm not sure about 'em myself.
In the end I decided to stick to my old ways and keep on posting music just in a good quality lossy format. And this is not 'cause I don't want to "quite" share (which is a funny thing to write, moreover by a nick who never shared something here), but just because most of the people out there, for one reason or another, prefer shorter DL times to CD quality.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
