Subtitled "Season's Greetings from the Roulette Family of Labels," these 25 tracks gather together some holiday recordings that pretty much go off the beaten path from other Christmas comps in a highly rhythmic manner. Kicking off with the Harmony Grits' off-kilter version of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," the collection veers between the cool (Pearl Bailey's "Five Pound Box of Money" and "Jingle Bells Cha Cha Cha," Frankie Lymon's "It's Christmas Time Again" and "Silent Night," the Orioles' "Lonely Christmas," "Oh Holy Night" and "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" and the Cadillacs' take on "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer") and the crazy (Howard Morris' "Department Store Santa," Babs Gonzales' "Be-Bop Santa Claus," Jim Backus' "Why Don't You Go Home for Christmas?" and "There Won't Be Any Snow (Christmas in the Jungle)" by Derrick Roberts). Selections from the Del Vetts, Toni Wine, the Marcels, Little Eva and Big Dee Irwin, Lou Monte, the Valentines, the Heartbeats, Jimmie Rodgers and Jo Ann Campbell complete this most unique compilation.
