The former lead singer of the band Blue Angel emerged on the newly created Epic/Portrait Records label in the mid-1980's with an album that burst on the scene and garnered near endless video play with the eye-catching clip of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". It's success was followed by "Time After Time", "All Through The Night", "She-Bop" and "Money Changes Everything", firmly establishing Lauper both as both a songwriter and pop star. While future singles sold yet albums didn't sell as much, she remains an artist who is respected by her peers and beloved by her dedicated fans.
