    Review:
The fourth album by everybody's favorite psychedelic Brazilian kooks, Os Mutantes, actually represents a second attempt at the same album; the tapes for the original version were lost (though eventually found and released years later) and the band had to start from scratch. This was a plus, as a bunch of new songs were born in the process. JARDIM ELECTRICO finds the band moving outward in several directions at once: "Portugal de Navio" is Mutantes at their most determinedly Beatlesque, while the percolating "Top Top" and the atmospheric "Justiciero" reveal some pan-South American influences. And the title track finds the band getting heavy, backing their trademark harmonies with big, fuzz-laden guitar riffs and pounding drums.
