Much influenced by 80's Power Pop English music (I may listen a early Prefab Sprout's release) than the future Brian Wilson's inspiration, the debut and underrated "Santa Barbara" album - as the next 1994 "Gideon Gaye" - is a step to the future 96-99's masterworks.
Often passed over in the the High Llamas' canon (even the liner notes of the reissue go out of their way to reassure that things are a little rough), 1992's Santa Barbara is nevertheless an important formative record that will please and interest many admirers of the band.
