This is the album I've been waiting for Tom Jones to make, for the past 20 years! These are the songs God intended Tom to sing, when he handed young Thomas Woodward, THAT voice. No plastic R & B here, these songs reach into your gut, and give it a shake. Tom is in magnificent voice throught - powerful, "smokey" and, dripping with feeling. Superb arrangements and musicianship from Jools and the boys, make sure that it all hangs together brilliantly. And, it's impossible to miss the fact that they all had a lot of fun making this record.
Simply put, if you're a lover of genuine rhythm & blues, performed the way it should be - then, you must own this album. It's an absolute "cracker" from start to finish.
I hope it sells millions, because that way, there'll be a Volume 2 - and I can't wait!
