Born from the meeting between Yoann LOUSTALOT and Julien TOUERY, active and talented musicians of the new generation of French jazz, this new quartet also highlights the captivating Eric SURMENIAN and Laurent PARIS. A friendship story above all but not that, the four musicians present here are confirmed and inspired instrumentalists.

Listening to the first notes, we realize that they were made to meet. The music, written by their pen, is of rare beauty, out of time, sincere. We are surprised to take the time to indulge in the bewitching climates that hover between impressionist jazz and chamber music. Here, the correctness of the subject prevails over the performance and singular singing unfolds brilliantly over fascinating soundscapes.

Each piece is like a universe in itself, a story in which the musicians offer a eulogy of the beautiful and the slow, like a homecoming. At a time when everything is accelerating, SLOW becomes obvious, an emergency …

Né de la rencontre entre Yoann LOUSTALOT et Julien TOUERY, musiciens actifs et talentueux de la nouvelle génération du jazz hexagonal, ce nouveau quartet met également en lumière les captivants Eric SURMENIAN et Laurent PARIS. Une histoire d’amitié avant tout mais pas que, les quatre musiciens présents ici sont des instrumentistes confirmés et inspirés.

A l’écoute des premières notes, on réalise qu’ils étaient faits pour se rencontrer. La musique, écrite de leur plume, est d’une beauté rare, hors du temps, sincère. On se surprend à prendre le temps de s’abandonner aux envoûtants climats qui louvoient entre jazz impressionniste et musique de chambre. Ici, la justesse du propos l’emporte sur la performance et un chant singulier se déploie avec éclat au dessus de paysages sonores fascinants.

Chaque morceau est comme un univers à lui seul, une histoire dans laquelle les musiciens proposent un éloge du beau et du lent, comme un retour aux sources. A l’époque où tout s’accélère, SLOW devient une évidence, une urgence…
