Live Aid was a two-venue benefit concert and music-based fundraising initiative held on Saturday 13 July 1985. The event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise further funds for relief of the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia, a movement that started with the release of the successful charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" in December 1984. Billed as the "global jukebox", Live Aid was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia.

Internationally celebrated as both a soloist and conductor, Florian Krumpöck has more than proven his outstanding capability in the international concert scene. “Forget Lang Lang and Arcadi Volodos. There are highly virtuoso keyboard tigers in Austria too”, was the verdict of the daily newspaper “Die Presse” on the pianist’s solo debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus. On this album, Florian Krumpöck presents two of Robert Schumann’s seminal works—Fantasiestücke, Op. 12 and Symphonic Études, Op. 13—both deeply intertwined with his great love and future wife, Clara Wieck. The album’s title, “Between Eusebius and Florestan”, alludes to the alter egos Schumann frequently invoked during this period: opposing personas that profoundly influenced his work as both a music critic and a composer. This recording of the Symphonic Études includes five posthumously published variations, with the finale drawn from Schumann’s 1852 revised version.

Young big band pays tribute to the legendary Skymasters: The Dutch big band tradition holds a special place in the history of jazz. The Skymasters, founded in 1945, captivated audiences with their swinging big band music and Dutch vocal repertoire through their popular radio broadcasts. Now, the Paradox Jazz Orchestra (PJO), a newly formed ensemble, pays homage to this illustrious era with their new album, “Remembering the Skymasters – Legacy.” Led by saxophonist and arranger Jasper Staps and trumpeter Teus Nobel, the PJO aims to revive and reintroduce the rich Dutch and international big band heritage to both existing and new generations of music lovers. In this blog post, we delve into the origins of the PJO, its unique concept, and its mission to keep big band music alive.

This album was recorded, mixed and mastered live in one take, on the evening of November 6th 2020 at Welcome To 1979 studio in Nashville. There were no overdubs, edits, punch-ins, remixes or remastering. This type of recording is very rare due to the technical and creative difficulty associated with it. Once the recording has started it cannot stop until the end of the side. You are hearing one complete take per side of the record, which is no easy feat for all involved!

REO Speedwagon (originally stylized as R.E.O. Speedwagon), or simply REO, was an American rock band from Champaign, Illinois. Formed in 1966, the band cultivated a following during the 1970s and achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980s. Their best-selling album, Hi Infidelity (1980), contained four US Top 40 hits and sold more than 10 million copies. REO Speedwagon sold more than 40 million records and charted 13 Top 40 hits, including the number ones "Keep On Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling".

Swedish saxophonist Lisen Rylander Löve is releasing the second album in her self-titled solo project, which began with the acclaimed Oceans (2019). With a curious and uncompromising approach, and with the freedom of jazz as her foundation, Rylander Löve shapes her evocative and genre-defying music using saxophone, voice, and live electronics. In Fields Of Time also features bassist Donovan von Martens and drummer Martin Öhman.

Amy Macdonald releases the new EP "Don't Tell Me That It's Over". The new collection of fan favourites is unveiled with today's release of the title track. Just in time for the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss II on October 25, 2025, cpo is releasing the complete musical recording of a comedy that will itself celebrate its 130th anniversary on December 4. In "Waldmeister," the undisputed waltz king once again pulls out all the stops, delivering a delightful comedy whose scandalous mix-ups finally dissolve into a high-proof punch, whose distinctive flavor is enhanced not only by the botanical title character (Galium odoratum), but also by a series of evergreen songs – most notably the leitmotif-like, proverbial "Trau schau wem," which all the players and antagonists join in enthusiastically. This live recording was made during the Vienna guest performance of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, which contributed to the Austrian Strauss celebrations of the year with its new production.
