    The Golden Age of Italian tenors was at 1950-60. DiStefano, Coreli, Del Monaco, Gianni Raimondi to mention some of them and of course Carlo Bergonzi. Bergonzi was the one who had the most sensitive and "humanate" voice of all with Pavaroti claiming to follow his example.

    This Classic Recital dates from 1957, it was recorded very carefully be Decca as always did Decca in this golden age. The voice of Carlo Bergonzi is at his highest peak and we' re quite lucky to have such performances captured so well. His recital includes Arias from the core Italian operatic repertoire of Verdi and Puccini along with some arias from operas of Cilea, Giordano and Mayerbeer.
