In the original manuscript each Sonata is prefaced by a small engraving (apparently) cut from a Rosary Psalter, a small book used as a guide to meditation by Rosary devotees.
By taking readings from such three psalters, held at the British Library, this recording places these Sonatas in their original spiritual context and (perhaps) points to their use as spiritual "tools".
Timothy West performs these readings. Each reading is individually tracked.
