Francesca Battistelli - Own It (2018)

Battistelli, who was recently touted as an Artist on the Rise from YouTube Music, co-wrote nine of theten songs found on Own It. "The Breakup Song," which she penned with David Garcia and MercyMe's Bart Millard, isthe album's first single and debuted in June.
Fans have been waiting for a long time for new music from Battistelli. Many instantly responded to "The BreakupSong," calling the anthemic tune that sings about breaking up with fear "uplifting, hope-inspiring and empowering," withone fan even writing, "Halfway through my first time hearing it I purchased the song. [It was] so timely in my life. Thankyou for this freedom from fear theme song of the year (and for life)!" Battistelli has also been waiting a long time toshare these new songs, recently sharing that she had new songs ready for an album two years ago. Yet so muchchanged during that time, it would've been a completely different project than the declarative progressive pop songscomprised on Own It.
"I thought I had a handle on what this album was going to be, but my husband and I prayed before every songwritingsession and God gave me a completely different set of songs than I was expecting," Battistelli exclaims. "These songsare so life-giving-so empowering. What they represent to me is my desire to own my identity in Christ, to own the factthat I belong, that I'm royalty. I am to own my identity and kick fear out of my life, to own the opportunities in front ofme that could change everything, to own the present moment and not live in the past or even the future. I am also toown the fact that I'm worth the very best because I am a child of God. Right now I'm in a season in my life where I'mwalking in more authority and who the Lord has made me to be. I'm tired of walking in half of what God's given me. Iwant to walk in all of it. I want to own it!"
