Volume III is the 1974 album by Lincoln Mayorga & Distinguished Colleagues. I do not have the other volumes. This was released on Sheffield Lab. The CD was pressed in 1989.
I have been a convert for a long time. My CD collection has become quite vast, and my SACD and DVDA collection is continuing to grow. So, what was I to do when I found a record album that I really wanted to listen to, but it was vinyl. Don't get me wrong, I have stacks of shellac that have gone unlistened to for decades. Unfortunately, they were left stranded to upgrade the system to digital -phono years ago. Time to upgrade. So, now several hundreds of dollars later, I have a nice set of cans (always funny to me) and a tube amp. This was the second disk the system brought to life after picking it up at a tag sale for $5. SO WORTH IT, even at the higher price point. I am beginning to understand why people dump oodles of money into analog. This DIRECT TO DISC recording is excellent, the songs are mostly familiar and the musicians rise to to critical "one shot" level. The arrangements are just slightly dated, but the quality of everything makes it so right..I really like this one. LLA!
