    Label: Moscow Studio Archives | APE | 1:06:37 | orig. recorded: 1983 (2003) | 3 x 99 + 66 MB
    Genre: Classical

1983 studio recording of Borodin's two completed symphonies with a major Russian conductor. These are fine readings of Borodin's colorful, exciting symphonies, not to be confused with Svetlanov's less successful recordings a decade later (which are far more expensive!). This is a real bargain and a must for lovers of Russian Romantic music played by authentic Russian orchestras.

"What an essential champion of the soul of Russian music Svetlanov was… Svetlanov's years of directorship of the USSR (later, Russian) State Symphony Orchestra produced a goldmine of performances that should, if we lived in a fairer world, survive and thrive as a testament to an idiosyncratic sound and the passion of their conductor." - David Wilkins, Music & Vision Daily, UK.
