Album released in Spain in 1977 and reissued the original published in 1966, performed by the chorus of Dr. Jester Hairston (North Carolina, 1901-2000), composer, lyricist, arranger, director and actor in film and television. The LP is titled as the opening track, 'Amen', which was undoubtedly the most famous creation that Hairston composed for the movie "Lilies of the Valley'(1963) by Ralph Nelson. The contents of the disc is fully directed to the spiritual or gospel music. Next to the cover title also includes another of his great creations, 'Mary's Little Boy Child', written in 1956 and possibly the only Christmas song written by an African American with such success. The entire repertoire, made all arrangements Jester Hairston's own, is remarkable for the depth and strength of the interpretation of the choir.Track list:
