Giuseppina Torre was born in Vittoria (Italy). After achieving the Diploma in Piano at the High School of Musical Studies “V. Bellini” of Caltanissetta, under the direction of Maestro Sergio Carrubba, she refines her skills with Maestro Giuseppe Cultrera and Maestro Francesco Nicolosi. After the Diploma in Piano she starts her career as a concert pianist at first as a classical music interpreter and then as an interpreter of her own compositions, which, as regards atmosphere and contents, approach Contemporary Music.

Since 2000 she has regularly performed in several theaters and schools of high musical education, both in Italian and foreign cities: Catania, Ragusa, Ispica, Rome, Barcelona, Munich, Cremona, Schaffhausen, Chur, Megève, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Lisbon and Bucharest. In 2005 she participated as a guest of honor at the International „Ferienkurse“ Neue Music at the "Georg-Büchner-Schule" in Darmstadt, Germany.

In 2007, she received the Diploma of Honor at the School of High Musical Education at the Conservatory "Ion Vidu" of Timisoara.

In 2010, she was selected at the 19th edition of Ibla Grand Prize in the category Composition by reaching the finalists selection.

In May 2012, she received two nominations at the Los Angeles Music Awards, and in November she won two awards as "International Artist of the Year“. And after her performance on the stage of the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles she won the 2nd prize as "International Solo Performer of the Year", an award which is given by the 'Jury of Quality' made up of music critics, press and music industry executives. Her composition "Il Silenzio delle Stelle" is included in 'The Best of Los Angeles Music Awards' of 2012 (Reinbo Records).

In August 2013, she was a finalist in the Songwriting Contest of the United of Kingdom. In August 2013, she released with the label Robin Hood Records the album "Il Silenzio delle Stelle" which immediately received the nomination as "Instrumental Album of the Year" at Los Angeles Music Awards in 2013. In November 2013, she won again two awards at Los Angeles Music Awards by winning the categories "International Artist of the Year" and "International Album of The Year“.

In November 2013, during her stay in Los Angeles she performed in the "Sala Rossellini" hall at the Italian Institute of Culture in the occasion of the 'Italian Cinema Style' in the presence of Bernardo Bertolucci, Gabriele Muccino and Paolo Sorrentino.

On January 6th, 2014, she played for Pope Francis in occasion of the Concert for Epiphany, broadcasted on national TV channel Rai 1. In January 2014, she composed the music for the documentary "L’ amore dopo la tempesta", about the Holocaust and broadcasted on Rai 1. She also composed the music for the documentary "Montecassino perchè" by the journalist Roberto Olla, broadcasted on Rai 1 in February 2014. On April 5th and 6th, 2014, she returned to Los Angeles to perform two concerts at the Santa Monica Arts Studio for an event where Italian culture and art are celebrated. She performed in the presence of the Italian Consul, Giuseppe Perrone and the institutional representatives of the Italian Institute of Culture. On April 7th she performed in a concert in the "Sala Rossellini" hall at the Italian Institute of Culture. On May 10th, 2014, she was awarded with the "Special Prize to Art" at the Theater San Paolo of Acireale. On October 4th, 2014, she won the International Music and Entertainment Award in the category "Classical Song" with the composition "Il silenzio delle stelle“. On 11th December she was a guest at the Los Angeles Social World Film Festival by performing in a concert at the hall “Sala Rossellini" of the Institute of Culture in Los Angeles.

On April 15th, 2015, she won the prize “The Akademia Music Awards" as "Best Instrumental / Classical Song" for the composition "Il silenzio delle stelle" with the motivation: "It’s a melody that invites to meditation. The pianistic masterpiece by Giuseppina Torre is the must of this year”. Awarded by The Akademia of Los Angeles, that is devoted to the scouting of musical talents all over the world. On July 4th, 2015, she presented in world premiere her first album "Il silenzio delle stelle" in a concert at "La Milanesiana", a prestigious cultural event in Milan. On October 19th, 2015, she was she was invited by the Italian Institute of Culture in Giacarta, and her concert opened the "Week of the Italian language and culture in the world". Moreover she held a master class with the students of the Musical Institute of Giacarta. In October 2015, she was a guest of the International Music and Entertainment Awards in Georgia, USA, and she enchanted the audience with a live performance of hers by playing in a world preview "Because I need you”. On November 25th, 2015, she played in a memorable concert in Nola on the occasion of the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women". Her sweet and emotional music makes people dream, but it also exhorts the harassed women not to surrender to whom wants to annihilate them. On the front of the violence against women Giuseppina continues to be committed both as woman and as artist.

On May 8th, 2016, in Ercolano she got the "Targa Vesuvio" (Plate Vesuvius) for her artistic and human merits. On May 9th, 2016, in Rome at the Theater Margherita she received the "Oreste Lionello Prize" of the music section. On October 8th, 2016, she won the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT in the category CLASSICAL ARTIST OF THE YEAR in MURFREESBORO IN TENNESSEE (USA).

On January 19th, 2017 she won the Akademia Awards of Los Angeles in the category Ambiental / Instrumental with the composition “IL MIO CIELO” with the following motivation: “IL MIO CIELO moves with a airy quality that much suggests its title - a fitting canvas for its heraldic piano melodies - and the result is stately, uplifting and eminently enjoyable.“

Her music has been used and is still used as theme and background music to some special TV reports of news program TG1 by the journalist Roberto Olla among which the documentary “L' amore dopo la tempesta”, about the survivors to the shoa; the special TG1 "Montecassino perchè "; the special TG1 "Papaveri rossi” and the special TG1 "Come manna dal cielo “. Besides also other news programs as TG2 and other channels as Canale 5 use her music for some cultural services.

The first album by Giuseppina Torre was released in October 2015, titled "Il Silenzio Delle Stelle”, published by Bideri and distributed by Sony Classical. This CD contains the recordings of some excellent collaborations, such as the Solis String Quartet, Consiglia Licciardi, Michele Signori and Fabrizio Bosso. The artistic production and the arrangements are by Maestro Mimmo Cappuccio.

About her music, Giuseppina: „My compositions are aimed to the world of introspection in the attempt to go beyond the visible, by translating into music the moods, the emotions, the feelings, the sensations in which each one can recognize him/herself. My music is an emotional musical journey in the labyrinth of the heart.“
