    Here at last is a compact disc presenting the oldest poular Yuletide songs to have been sung in Scandinavia. We have taken them from Swedish, Danish, and Finnish-Swedish songbooks and hymnals fron the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. These songs were so immensely popular that they survived the Reformation and appear in printed sources side by side with the hymns of Martin Luther. The oldest tunes, however, can betraced back all the way to the tenth and eleventh centuries.
