This previously unreleased live session from 1982 features saxophonist Steve Lacy and pianist Mal Waldron in duo performances recorded at the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, the home of Dutch jazz masters like Han Bennink, Misha Mengelberg and Willem Breuker. Both musicians are great improvisors and they frequently performed together as a duo. They also share a deep influence by Thelonious Monk, which is evident in this stunning performance. On this recording they perform Lacy's 'Blues for Aida', heard here in its earliest recorded version, and an innovative version of Waldron's `Snake Out'. The programme is completed by three Thelonious Monk tunes, `Reflection', `Round Midnight' and `Epistrophy'.
