"Lily Was Here" is a single, released in November 1989, from the soundtrack of the Dutch movie De Kassière.
The main theme of the film was about Lily, who was the lead character in the movie and played by Marion van Thijn (the daughter of the mayor of Amsterdam at the time). David A. Stewart invited Candy Dulfer, who had not previously released any of her material, to play the saxophone on this song. The single became a major hit and stayed at the #1 position for five weeks in the Netherlands. Because of this success, the single was also released in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States where it became a hit as well, reaching number six in the UK and even rising to number eleven in the tough U.S. market. The success of this song encouraged Dulfer to write her own album Saxuality.
"Lily Was Here" was also included in the soundtrack of movie Mystery Date. The song also appeared in Baywatchs 11th episode of season 2

Музыку к кинофильму написал Dave A. Stewart. Он же пригласил, для исполнения партий саксофона девятнадцатилетнюю никому тогда неизвестную, не имеющую на тот момент ни одного сольного альбома Candy Dulfer. Dave A. Stewart не ожидал, что тендем с Candy и первая мелодия из кинофильма станет мировым хитом №1 (Нидерланды - 5 недель 1 место). Сингл "Lily Was Here" был выпущен в Великобритании, Европе, Соединенных Штатах, где также стал хитом. В Великобритании достиг 6 места. В Штатах, при самой жесточайшей конкуренции на американском рынке, сингл занял 11 место, чего не было со времен Beatles, для европейской музыки в США это триумф.
Такой успех способствовал Candy Dulfer в написании собственного альбома Saxuality. Композицию "Lily Was Here" Candy Dulfer смогла использовать на концертах и альбомных записях только с 1998 года.
"Lily", былa также включена (официально) в музыку к кинофильму Mystery Date и в 11-ом эпизоде 2 сезона сериала Baywatchs.
