Biography
sifow (シーフォウ, shiifou) is a Japanese pop/trance singer-songwriter. Her real name is Fujita Shiho (藤田志穂), and she was born in Chiba, Japan, on May 11th 1985. Sifow is currently assigned to the music label avex trax. She is the president of the company SGR, which is her main occupation. At the age of 15, sifow became interested in the gyaru fashion, and only one year after that she actually became one. At the age of 17, she was already a full gyaru. She has stated that she became a gyaru when she was 16, but an issue of the Ranzuki magazine shows pictures of when she was 15, 17, 18, 19 and finally 22 years old. Sifow tells in her book, Gyaru Kakumei, that when she was in high school, she used to spend most of her freetime in Shibuya-ku. In October of 2004, sifow got the idea of a "gal revolution" (ギャル革命, Gyaru Kakumei). She began to understand that she had a bad image of herself, due to being a ganguro gyaru. After this she started to think about a company that would promote a good image of gyarus. After three months, in January of 2005, she started a blog called "Gyaru no Kakumei" (☆ギャルの革命☆). By now her dreams of the company had become very clear to her, and she had already started to plan it out. By March of the same year, she established her own company, SGR (a.k.a. ShihoGalRevolution). She decided the company to be a music label. The next month she released her first indies single, I Uta (I謡). The sales and promotion of the single were done through her official website. Over 500 copies of the single were sold in just 8 minutes. The rest of the copies were sold on the following week. During May to December of 2005, sifow produced a number of indies releases and events. Until this day, she has released one DVD, 4 singles, a magazine and stamps under her SGR company. She has also launched several other projects, including singing. In 2006 sifow got a record contract from avex trax, one of the biggest labels in Japan. Under the label she has released a mini album, 5 singles and two albums. In 2006 she also wrote a book about the success of her gal revolution. Sifow is planning to establish a cafeteria-style school someday in the year 2010. Because of this project she is currently on hiatus from singing.
