Stormburst - Raised On Rock (2017)

STORMBURST is a Melodic Hard Rock Band from Sweden signed to the German Melodic Rock Label AOR Heaven and “Raised on Rock” is the work they have prepared to as they themselves play it have fun and make music while paying an homage to Melodic Hard Rock and love; A distinct combination of different eras of heavy metal into a thirteen-song album worthy of recognition for effort posted and the experience of the rockers playing the instruments and singing the vocals. This record makes you feel relaxed and motivated at the same time, after all the chaos and the paranoia that has been surrounding a nomad and fellow Metal parishioner like yours truly lately, with all the hate and violence and terrorism going on around the world remembering that feeling of fuzzy tenderness for a while and thinking about those “first times” is a great relief.

Driven by love, tenderness and the longing for that person that just makes us complete in both evolutionary and romantic way is the quality seal for this band and this record. A completely knowledgeable production to go with it makes every sound worthy of being appreciated and the combination of elements is a factor that, although some may consider this genre as plain and tedious, allows for the listening of the whole album without any effort or displeasure. The merging of elements between the instrumentation of keyboards and voice surrounding the musical structure as a slight rain blowing over your face by the wind right after as the song says, the interest of those involved is far between the line of no return.

It’s an entertaining and pleasant album to listen to, and a true revival of the decade that made us what we, the ones spawned into earth in the decade of the eighties, a period that gave birth to cultural phenomena and musical expansion that is transcending even after almost four decades of its creation.
