"The fascination of this record is that Sugarcane won't let himself be pinned down in one category. He has always been, and still is a commuter who travels the routes of jazz, rock and the blues. And, whatever style he may be spotlighting at any one moment, he still puts it all together as only he can. You can hear it on this LP, too, even though it's quite different from his previous MPS records. Here he uses brass and background vocals for the first time and get's a new sound with them. It's Sugarcane's serious attempt to go commercial but without any success. Nevertheless this album is a great piece of music until today." liner notes by Rainer Cabanis
