The best of the Brooklyn based funk band formed by Randy Mueller in 1968 as Dynamic Soul. It wasn't until 1975 when the group recorded their first album changed their name to Brass Construction. That album helped change the sound of dance music and began their ascent on both the pop and R&B charts in a career that extended well into the next decade. With hits like "Movin'", "Changin'", "Wake Up" and "Ha Cha Cha (Funktion)", the band certainly made their mark on the world of popular music. Brass Construction's unique take on jazz, funk, and even disco (which would come to full fruition with vocalist Randy Muller's project, Skyy) are revisited on The Best of Brass Construction: Movin' & Changin'. All of the hits are included, with some lesser-known early career tracks thrown in for a fair sense of historical perspective. While these earlier tracks are somewhat of a nuisance to trudge through (especially as there are a few obscure earlier numbers that could have been equally effective on the compilation), they are pardoned by hearing their signature anthems in their full remastered glory.
