Evan Binkley - Pink Dolphins (2018)

From small-town America, then to 1990s New York, Evan Binkley washed up on these shores some 13 years ago. His world is a blend of what he found here and the insight he arrived with. His songs draw attention to the untold stories his outsiderness notices. Island life, as seen through his characterful lens. The content and narratives are drawn directly from daily existence; they are often portraits and situations peculiar to this eccentric island, drifting somewhere in the South China Sea. The ‘twangling instruments’ Evan plays here are also his own creations, and it seems he is the only one able to master them.
From the street sweepers who clean the streets of Cheung Chau, to the musicians who gave their skills, Pink Dolphins is the fruit of many random spirits. Spirits you will soon encounter on this strange island of tunes.
