The Sonny Moorman Group is a Cincinnati, Ohio based Blues/Rock band in the classic "power trio" format, consisting of Sonny Moorman - guitar & vocals, Marc Hoffman - bass, and Jamie Combs - drums & vocals. Sonny and the band are nine-time winners of CAMMY awards (Cincinnati Area Music awards sponsored by the Cincinnati Enquirer Newspaper). The band was formed in 1994 and was signed to its first recording deal by 706 Records/Sun Studio at the 1994 Crossroads in Memphis. Since then the band has played 300 nights a year and has performed at regional festivals and clubs and toured the US with Easyriders Magazine, performing at all their events.

Sonny has two prior releases on Sun Studio/706 Records – Telegraph Road and L*I*V*E which received nationwide airplay and positive critical response. The Sonny Moorman Group has also released three CDs on the independent Atlas Records label which also received national airplay and strong regional sales. The Sonny Moorman Group is managed by William Perkins for Republic Artists Management. William Perkins was long time tour manager of The Allman Brothers Band and co-personal manager of their twentieth anniversary reunion. He was also directly invoved for many years in the personal management of Gregg Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tinsley Ellis and others through his association with Strike Force Management.

More than just a Blues-Rock artist, award-winning guitar player Sonny Moorman balances his signature smoking-hot riffs with a hard-rocking precision and feel born deep in the Blues ethos. Seeming to channel inspiration from elsewhere, his world-class playing is at once both transcendental and firmly grounded in reality, captivating audiences nationwide. The music is original, complex and never stale, with relatable lyrics and a sound that conjures up masters like Duane Allman, Lonnie Mack, and Freddy King. Still, Moorman has forged his own intoxicating style throughout his decades-long career, which firmly establishes him as one of the last great authentic roadhouse players.

Moorman and his band headlined 2012 GABBAfest (where he played Duane Allman’s Guitar!) and the Blues stage at the 2010 Montreal Jazz Fest. He appeared as a Band Finalist at the 2010 International Blues Challenge and won 2nd place in the IBC Solo/Duo competition in 2007. Moorman has released a number of CDs throughout his career, garnering critical acclaim and commercial success – including an excellent review of his latest release, More Live As Hell, by Blues Revue Magazine. Other accolades include being selected 2008 Blues Artist on the Rise by Blues Festival Guide Magazine.
