    Like its liner notes say, this CD captures both the early period of Return to Forever, when the outfit was more of a jazz/Brazillian/Fusion group, and its later period, when the more Latin influences were de-emphasized in favor of rock. One can hear a clear difference between the two eras - whereas the earlier group was more introspective, the later one was much more energetic. The one constant, however, is the superior muscianship evident regardless of the material played.
