The Brooklyn Dreams classic 1979 eponymous album finally makes it to CD for the first time anywhere in the world! The album is highly regarded amongst disco fans. The album was was a huge cult disco hit on it's original release on Casablanca Records. Singles include Make It Last, Street Man as well as the top ten Pop hit duet with the Queen of Disco Donna Summer, Heaven Knows.
This newly remastered edition features extensive liner notes and two bonus remixes including the unreleased 12" Disco mix of Donna Summer's Heaven Knows. This long sought-after CD re-master is a must for all Seventies Pop, Soul and Disco fans.

Pure musical, magical harmonies from beginning to end make this album SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, the second from BROOKLYN DREAMS, a huge success. The blend of these three men's voices together is always simply divine be it on a dance track or slow ballad. There is no filler here. The high mark is set with the opening disco track MAKE IT LAST. It is a joyous uplifting number. Other songs THAT'S NOT THE WAY THAT YOUR MAMA TAUGHT YOU TO BE and COMING UP THE HARD WAY are also solid uptempo tracks where the harmonies and beat blend to make the songs shine. SLEEPLESS NIGHTS/SEND ME A DREAM and FIRST LOVE are soulful pop done to perfection. And with FASHION FOR ME and TOUCHING IN THE DARK the harmonies are slowed down for simple heartfelt urban soul romanticism. The raw emotion is perfection.
Two other standouts are the r@b soul STREET MAN with its strong street beat and HEAVEN KNOWS. The version of HEAVEN KNOWS on the initial album is the one we all know with Donna Summer singing duet with Joe Esposito from the group. This cd has 2 bonus tracks and one is an unreleased previously version of HEAVEN KNOWS with Donna and Joe switching roles. BBR has released this cd with the respect it deserves. The songs are digitally remastered for amazing sound, there are extensive liner notes and great bonus tracks. The magic of BROOKLYN DREAMS was always their amazing harmonies as they tackled songs from doo-wop to disco, ballads and urban soul. They represent the best of the 70s and the music is timeless. Highly recommended.
