Dean Martin started his early life as a jack of all trades dabbling in delivering bootleg liquor, boxing and working as a croupier, at the same time singing with local bands calling himself Dino Martini . It was however his laid back crooning style which was to give him the break and direction he was looking for. Volare is a snapshot of Martin covering a range of iconic material, digitally remastered across 3CDs.

Disc 1 is a compilation of well known Italian Love Songs including his most famous hits Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu)', 'Sway', 'That s Amore' and 'Mambo Italiano'. Disc 2 is the Pretty Baby album and has a simpler feel despite lush orchestration and has the bonus tracks Memories Are Made Of This and When You re Smiling . Disc 3 is the concept album Swingin Down Yonder which is solely made up of songs from the South and was Dean s first full length album that was released in 1955. Highlights include Georgia On My Mind and Waiting For The Robert E Lee . This set is a look at Martin s impressive body of solo work minus his beloved Rat Pack!
