Jay Sewall - Payin' My Dues: 50 Years Of Blues (2018)

Born in Boston, Jay Sewall grew up in Montreal and played in Chicago in the seventies and the eighties. Based in Quebec over the past twenty years, he is today a legend in Canadian blues. This artist whose last album was entirely instrumental and dates back to 2009, is currently in the studio in Quebec City recording his sixth album under the wise guidance of producer Paul Hinton. The new album, entitled «Duets» will have song collaborations with Clio, Monya, Michel Goudreau, Swift Years and many others and will be released at the end of 2013.

The singer-songwriter and harp player received the prestigious Lifetime Lys Blues Award in 2008. This was the first Lys Blues ever to be given to a local Quebec City artist. Every Sunday afternoon, he animates the most festive "jam" imaginable : a joyful, musical, friendly atmosphere with door prizes and more, "Jay's Jam Americana" at the Bistro du Quartier in Quebec City.
