Blues
On November 4th, 1971 Don "Sugarcane" Harris did a highly acclaimed concert during the Berlin Jazztage resulting in a album called "Sugar Cane`s Got The Blues" (at least 3 of 4 tracks) . The whole concert had been recorded by a radio station but unfortunately they didn`t keep all the tapes. Good news is, that besides those three tracks of the LP (CD 2009) there are three more tracks available now which had been broadcasted over the radio but never have been released to the public. So here they are in excellent sound quality.track listing:
The additional wonderful version of hard bop pianist and bandleader Horace Silver's "Song For My Father" actually comes from another night of the festival and was Harris' solo feature in a "New Violin Summit" with three other plugged in fiddlers taking part and Terje Rypdal on guitar. various sources
