I had these two releases when they were on Vinyl. Now you can get two re releases on 1 2CD set. Disc one is Descending Moonshine Dervishes.Terry performs on an electric organ modified to be in Just intonation tuning. He maintains rhythmic cycles as he travels his hypnotic path. Disc Two is unique because he plays a Prophet 10 synthesizer, actually 2 of them. The sounds are different than the voicing s for Organs.This disc was recorded live. The Prophet was a new instrument when this was recorded.
So Terry is working with textures few classical players were willing to embrace. There seems to be a play on words here. While the instrument is called a prophet, he sings on this recording in a Hindu type tonality. Perhaps he is being a prophet as well. I must admit, Terry's voice is my least favorite of his talents. However, I am willing to bear with his voice just to hear how he plays electronic keyboards.The structure and feel have overshadowed a less than gracious voice. Fans of his other keyboard work will rejoice at these tracks. Just be forwarned, his singing is not for those addicted to melodies.
