In 1983, went solo releasing her debut album . ’s biggest success came a year later with the release of her self-titled album. This massive title featured the #1 dance hit and #19 R&B single . The track also charted highly in the UK Singles Chart. Also in 1984 sang two songs, and , used on the soundtrack to the film .
