Kurt Vile will release a new album in 2022. "(Watch My Moves)" is the name of the now ninth longplayer of the U.S. guitarist, singer and songwriter from Philadelphia, who started his music career a few years ago with the band War On Drugs, and is also the first release on his new label Verve Records.

Most recently, Vile had released the EP "Speed, Sound, Lonely KV" in 2020. His last album came out in 2018 with "Bottle It In" reaching #24 on the UK charts.

"(Watch My Moves)" was recorded by the musician and singer at his home studio OKV Central and produced by himself, with the help of Rob Schnapf: "When Waylon Jennings became an outlaw country artist, he liked to record at Hillbilly Central, Tompall Glaser's studio. OKV Central is my version of that in Mount Airy. This is where I find myself, and at the same time, I'm returning to my home recording roots," Vile said in a statement. It's a change that's reflected in the lo-fi sound of the new record. Vile explains, "It's about songwriting. It's about lyrics. It's about being the master of all areas of music."

He already revealed what the whole thing sounds like with the first single, "Like Exploding Stones," which also features James Stewart of the Sun Ra Arkestra. Also featured on "(Watch My Moves)" is Vile's band The Violators, with guest contributions from Cate Le Bon, Chastity Belt, Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint and percussionist Sarah Jones.

Together they recorded 15 songs for the album, including a cover version of Bruce Springsteen's "Wages Of Sin" along with many Vile originals.
