The french horn, Transit Time Album, makes you travel in the world of the Gypsy and swing rhythms enhanced with the original melody created by Vincent Raffard from Paris. Trumpet, clarinet, violin , cello and more will bring you to the old school vibes.

A Parisian jazz vocalist, guitarist, trumpet player, and songwriter, Vincent Raffard's style comfortably rides the train between contemporary and timeless classic gypsy jazz with his band The French Horn.

Raffard’s communion with his horn, often employing his mute, softening his sound, compliments his quiet, French vocals. “The music I play is traditional ‘Chanson Francaise’, like American folk, similar to the styles of Edith Piaf, Gorges Brassens, Serge Gainsbourg, Djengo Reinhardt, who were Parisian jazz icons from the 40’s to the 60’s." All songs on TRANSIT TIME were written by Raffard with the exception of Chanson Pour L'Aubergnat, L'Homme A La Moto, and Il Est 5 Heures Paris S'Eveille.

Raffard picked up a guitar at the tender age of twelve, then as fate would influence his future as much as the blues and French jazz he was listening to, a bicycle accident sidelined him from the typical childhood activities giving him plenty of time to take up with his passion for music. At 14, he had his first band, as lead guitarist. Realizing that traditional studies wasn’t his thing, he enrolled in a music academy at age16 where he began intensively training jazz guitar. At the age of 18, he had a dream that he was playing the trumpet with ease, and that Miles Davis was his “spiritual father”. The next day he rented a cornet, and a few weeks later he was playing with friends. His introduction to the trumpet was an easy transition, which transcended into studying it intensely in a jazz music conservatory in Paris. In 2001, he met a teacher who taught him how to “blow the right way, yogi style, a spiritual approach.” For the next six years he continued to work and play in various projects, and in 2007, began to write and compose followed by moving to the United States.
