2009 two CD set containing a pair of albums from the Country superstar, originally released on the United Artists and Liberty labels at the height of his worldwide popularity. Though Rogers achieved success at the tail end of the '60s with his band The First Edition, it wasn't until he fully crossed over into the Country market that international fame came calling. Ironically, his move away from the Pop charts actually brought him more success once Country Music began to crossover into the same market he had initially given up on. This set contains the albums Gideon (1980) and Share Your Love (1981). Includes 'Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer' (a duet with Kim Carnes), 'Lady', 'Makes Me Wonder If I Ever Said Goodbye' and more.

"Gideon" is the 7th solo studio album by Kenny Rogers. Issued by United Artists Records in 1980, it reached #1 on the country charts and the top 20 of the pop charts. It includes the worldwide hit "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" (a duet with Kim Carnes, who also wrote and produced the album for Rogers). Gideon is a concept album about a Texas cowboy, and all the songs stick to this theme. The album is a look back at his life in retrospect. In the first song "Gideon Tanner", it is known that Gideon is dead. This and most of the other songs are sung from the point of view of Gideon. Although the album's only single release was "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer", the song "Saying Goodbye" was issued on the B-side to Rogers' top five hit single "Love the World Away". Gideon reached #1 on the Billboard Country charts in 1980.

"Share Your Love" is the 8th studio album by country singer Kenny Rogers, released in 1981. Produced by Lionel Richie, it is also Rogers' first with Liberty Records besides his Greatest Hits album. The album has sold nine million copies worldwide. Four singles were released from this Share Your Love. "I Don't Need You" charted at #1 on the US and Canadian country charts as well as reaching the top of the US Adult Contemporary charts, and #3 on the US Hot 100. The title cut "Share Your Love With Me" reached #14 on the Hot 100 and #5 in the US Country charts, though it did reach #2 in Canada and led the US Adult Contemporary charts. Rogers then took a break to release a single from his first Christmas album. "Blaze of Glory", which featured Kin Vassy on backing vocals, was also released as a single. Although it was a lesser hit than the first two singles, it still made the top ten. The final single, "Through The Years", returned Rogers to the very top by putting him at #1 the Adult Contemporary charts once again. The album reached #1 on the country charts and #6 on the pop charts, reaching platinum and double-Platinum status in the US and Canada, respectively.
