Well what can one say about the wonderful Loreena McKennit that hasn't already been said? She has a beautiful, ethereal voice that is made for celtic / worldly music. This live recording from a radio station studio consists of three musicians and the recordings are just wonderful. I bought the mp3's from another music store as amazon doesn't sell them for some reason (yet).
The tracks on the album are of the "greatest hits" variety and you may already have them, but you don't have them like this. The difference with this recording is the sense of intimacy here. The other live records you can buy have different acoustics, those are mainly in large spacious halls where as these feel very "up close" and personal. I believe the instruments used here are cello, harp and guitar but I also hear some keyboards.
Her voice is powerful, clear and an instrument all on its own. If you don't own any live recordings of Loreena's music, I
highly recommend this one. (An Amazon customer)
