Simon comes from Belfast in Northern Ireland, a place that resonates of the best music traditions like Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher as well as bands such as Thin Lizzy, Stiff Little Fingers, and obviously U2. His biography tells the story of his band touring with no sound engineer, driver, roadie, playing 30 shows in 35 days and catching the attention of the label who challengingly asked him to “Show us what you've got” by booking him into a studio for 12 hours on his only day off on tour to be auditioned. Simon not only convinced the label, that he has what is takes, but left a probably eternally lasting impression.

On this debut album Simon McBride makes a powerful statement. A former Young Guitarist of The Year, McBride matches his guitar skills with an excellent voice and well written songs. 11 of the 13 tracks are written by McBride. This is a feel-good contemporary blues-rock album packed with energy and memorable hooks. McBride will definitely be one to watch in the future. Anyone into artists like Joe Bonamassa should give him a try as you won't be disappointed.
