"Coming Up" is the third studio album by the English rock band Suede, released in September 1996. It was a commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart and producing five top-ten singles, marking a shift to a more pop-oriented sound following the departure of guitarist Bernard Butler. Collected here are selected recordings from the reading gig, broadcast on BBC radio 1, plus some previously unreleased studio takes of the album’s tracks recorded for the station’s evening session and Mark Radcliffe shows. Cherrypicked by the band as the best possible ‘coming up’ BBC recordings, they’ve been sequenced for ‘coming up at The BBC’ in the same order as the original studio album.

Sting has shared the Desert Rose Reimagined EP, featuring three brand new remixes and extended mixes of his crossover single Desert Rose. The singer-songwriter crafted the 2000 track alongside Algerian songwriter Cheb Raba – a.k.a. Rabah Zarradine – and it notably revolves around an iconic and instantly recognisable vocal from Algerian Raï artist Cheb Mami. The original Desert Rose appeared on Sting’s Brand New Day and united Arabic, Algerian folk, and Western vibes, gaining traction internationally. It reached the Top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 and claimed spots in the Top 10 of charts worldwide. Among the Desert Rose Reimagined EP highlights is a newly reimagined version by Middle Eastern-American duo Bedouin – Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe. Channeling the cinematic spirit of the original, they seamlessly stretch the song’s soundscape with deep house rhythms, down-tempo grooves, and international appeal. The pair accent the track’s instantly recognisable North African stylings with Middle Eastern flair, bringing fresh fire to it.

Paul McCartney has today announced WINGS, a new Wings ‘best of’ that will be available across a number of formats including a McCartney and SDE-exclusive blu-ray audio with Dolby Atmos Mixes. Unlike the Wingspan compilation from 2001, this new collection sticks strictly to songs from Wings albums (and Wings non-album singles) and so doesn’t include any solo hits adjacent to this era (such as ‘Another Day’ or ‘Coming Up’) or anything from 1971’s Ram (credited to Paul and Linda McCartney), despite ‘Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey’ being a US No 1 hit single in September 1971.

The debut album of one of Britain's most acclaimed and influential bands Songs to Remember takes us back to the beginnings of Scritti Politti. Having emerged out of the DIY Camden bedsit scene of the late 70s, yet with a musical vision to match the likes of Miles Davis (who they later worked with), the Green Gartside-led group established themselves as one of the early 80s' true innovators as Songs To Remember channeled both the fiery politics of the era with a burgeoning pop sensibility. Described as “witty and ingenious” by NME on its release in 1982, Songs to Remember has been fully remastered for this long overdue vinyl repressing, which has been personally overseen by Gartside himself.

A leading icon of the British music revolution of the 1960s, Pete Townshend made his name by creating the power chord, smashing guitars on stage, and penning anthems of teenage rebellion like My Generation. Now, approaching 70 and half a century after he penned the archetypal rock lyric Hope I die before I get old, Townshend has created a classical version of one of The Who's landmark albums Quadrophenia for a symphony orchestra, opera singer and choir.

“This album is almost all new songs written last year, with just two exceptions,” Townshend said in a statement. “There is no theme, no concept, no story, just a set of songs that I (and my brother Simon) wrote to give Roger Daltrey some inspiration, challenges and scope for his newly revived singing voice.”

On July 6, 2019, The Who headlined a sell-out show at the world-famous Wembley Stadium in London for the first time in 40 years. Performing many of their greatest hits, the show featured the band as they’ve never been seen before, accompanied by the 57-piece Isobel Griffiths Ltd. Orchestra. The Who with Orchestra Live at Wembley relives that iconic show.

These albums were cut for vinyl from the original master tapes using a completely analog signal path and with constant reference to first generation pressings of the original albums. They were made using a Studer A80 master recorder with analog preview & program paths, and a Neumann VMS70 cutting lathe originally installed in Capitol Studios in 1971. This specific all-analog cutting technique allows faithful representation of the full musical range and dynamics present on the original tapes.

Often labeled a musical chameleon, Jackson insists that most of his work belongs to his own “mainstream” – sophisticated pop songs with ever-shifting rhythms and textures. After his playful detour with What a Racket! (a 2023 side project exploring early 20th-century British entertainment and music), he now returns to that core territory.
