Part of a four-volume reissue series from Robinsongs, a division of the U.K.'s Cherry Red, this release combines Loveshine (1978) and Candy (1979), the third and fourth Mercury-era albums from Con Funk Shun. Both albums peaked in the Top Ten of Billboard's R&B chart, aided by singles like "Shake and Dance with Me," "So Easy," "Chase Me," and "(Let Me Put) Love on Your Mind." This is a straightforward reissue. Both albums are squeezed onto one disc, and there are no bonus tracks. Along with Con Funk Shun/Secrets, Touch/Con Funk Shun 7/To the Max, and Fever/Electric Lady, this is a reasonably priced way to pick up a significant chunk of the band's discography.
