Brian Setzer is one of the leaders of the big-band swing revival, and this program presents a terrific one hour and 40-minute Christmas concert in its entirety, featuring fun hits like "This Cat's on a Hot Tin Roof", "Jump Jive an' Wail", and "Run Rudolph Run", plus behind the scenes b-roll footage, including a first-time look at Brian Setzer and his orchestrator composing a chart from scratch. Filmed December 18, 2004 at L.A's sold-out Universal Amphitheatre, its is easily the best video presentation of the Brian Setzer Orchestra ever.

The Housemartins were an English alternative rock band that was active in the 1980s. The Housemartins' lyrics were an odd mixture of Marxist politics and Christianity, reflecting Paul Heaton's beliefs at the time (the back cover of London 0 Hull 4 contained the message, "Take Jesus - Take Marx - Take Hope"). The band was formed in 1983 by Paul Heaton (vocals), Stan Cullimore (guitar), Ted Key (bass) and Chris Lang (drums). The band's membership changed considerably over the years. Ted Key was replaced by Norman Cook — the future Fatboy Slim — and drummer Chris Lang was replaced by Hugh Whitaker, former drummer with The Gargoyles, who in turn was replaced with Dave Hemingway. The band often referred to themselves as "the 4th best band in Hull", referring to Hull, the city in England where the band formed in 1983. (The three bands that were "better" were Red Guitars, Everything but the Girl, and The Gargoyles.)

It is impossible to describe the legendary musician Taj Mahal in any short phrase. Yes, he's a soulful Blues singer and guitar player, but also a globetrotting multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, ethnomusicologist, musicians' advocate, and the winner of two Grammy Awards. Oh yeah, he is also a warm human being, with a great sense of humor, and he likes to fish, and smoke fine cigars! For over 40 years Taj Mahal has been playing his very own distinctive brand of Blues. On a rock solid Country-Blues foundation the artist has layers a mixture of genres, including Caribbean, Hawaiian, African, Latin, and Cuban sounds and rhythms blended with Folk, Jazz, Zydeco, Gospel, Rock, Pop, Soul, and R&B. It's been said he plays Afro-Caribbean Blues, Folk-World-Blues, Hula Blues, Folk-Funk, and half a dozen other hyphenated descriptions which have attempted to describe his style, whereas in truth trying to pigeonhole the man is a futile exercise. The glue that sticks it all together is Taj's enduring interest in musical discovery, particularly in tracing American musical forms back to their roots in Africa and Europe.
