A Reminiscent Drive - Zoom Back Camera (2013)

Zoom Back Camera is an anthology of 34 tracks of electronic project JAY Alansky , A Reminiscent Drive . Signed in 1995 on the label ERIC LAURENT GARNIER and Morand , F -Com, one of the spearheads of what became known as the French Touch soon , A DRIVE EMINISCENT has already released four EPs , two albums and many remixes six years of existence. Instrumental music , freed from the dictates of the song format, which allows him to explore another side of his sensibility - clearly related to his spiritual questioning. Project A Reminiscent Drive takes shape on an old 8-track tape recorder and tapes ferrochromium . "No Record On This Computer " , can be read , typed on the cover of the first EP " One Flame " (1996) . Today released the double CD designed by JAY Alansky as a real new lbum . He himself chose pieces throughout the catalog ARD including the rarest tracks , alternative versions , the "classic" , but also five unreleased tracks to date, focusing on the aspect more experimental project . He also invested himself in the visual identity of this anthology , put forward by directors such as Agnès Varda using its pieces . Ambient, experimental but hyper melodic , free of all constraints and formatting, created with JAY AReminiscent Drive a protean and always surprising work.
« With Zoom Back Camera – The Anthology, I wanted to try to create a « brand new » album in choosing particular tracks from the whole ARD catalogue plus rare and unreleased material and putting them together under a new light and with a different musical dynamic with the emphasis on the experimental side. Zoom Back Camerais also a direct reference (and a tribute) to Alejandro Jodorowsky‘s wonderful and initiatic work (especially his movie The Holy Mountain). He is one of the personalities (with Chögyam Trungpa, Alan Watts among others, all present in the ARD records one way or another) who helped me to change my vision of art, life and reality. » - Jay Alansky
