    Oldies, oldies... 1955

    TOP 50 of 1955

Occasionally, have fallen me into hands streamer cartridges with hits of the 50s - 60s - 70s. Something from them was possible to restore, something, unfortunately - was not. That managed to be resulted in more or less played kind it will be published gradually here - it's most of all ordered on small private broadcast at 1955 - 1979. Let's start on…

    Year 1955:

    Miles DAVIS - Bitches Brew
    (mp3@192~224) - 161 Mb

    CD audio (21 juin 1999)
    Date de sortie d'origine 19 août 1969
    Enregistrement original remasterisé
    Label COLUMBIA

Barbara Dickson ''The Love Songs'' | Genre: Vocal / Easy | 1989
    MP3 | CBR 320 Kbps | 59:31 | 136 MB

Barbara Dickson was born on September 27, 1947 in Dunfermline, Scotland. In the 1960's she began making her name as part of the burgeoning Scottish folk scene of the time alongside Jack Beck, Archie Fisher and Rab Noakes. Turning professional in 1969, Barbara cut three acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful folk albums for Decca Records. On the advice of Hamisch Imlach she moved to the north of England to expand her career on the folk circuit. Fate intervened in 1974 when friend Willy Russell offered her the singing role in the hit Beatles' musical "John Paul George Ringo…& Bert". Hits such as "Answer Me", "Another Suitcase In Another Hall" and "January February" followed throughout the late 70's and well into the 1980's, with regular appearances on TV in shows such as "Scotch And Wry" and "The Two Ronnies". By 1985 Barbara was selling out major venues such as London's Royal Albert Hall as she enjoyed her first number one, "I Know Him So Well", with Elaine Paige.

    Karlheinz Stockhausen: Mantra (1986)

    Karlheinz Stockhausen: Mantra (1986)

    Karlheinz Stockhausen: Mantra
    Classical | EAC (APE & CUE) | New Albion (1990) | 2 parts / 179 MB

"I became aware that all sounds can make meaningful language." ―Karlheinz Stockhausen

More than twenty years after its premiere, Mantra occurs as Stockhausen's first "Formelkomposition," and therefore as a keywork to almost all of his following pieces, such as "Inori," "Tierkreis," and "Sirius," as well as his music-theater cycle, "Licht." The basis of the piece is a twelve-tone motive, where every note has a specific duration, rhythmic value and intensity. In conncetion with this, Stockhausen mentions that he has quite free images or sounds, just as in "Aus den Sieben Tagen," a meditation piece based on verbal notation which was created in California in 1968, and also in the piece "Fur kommende Zeiten" that was written at the same time as Mantra. And although in interviews Stockhausen talks about how he uses rigid and free forms in mixed ways, all the works following Mantra are nevertheless "Formula" compositions, or even―as in "Licht"―"Superformula" compositions.
