    Second release from this excellent German progressive rock outfit. I acquired this CD several years ago and was immediately addicted to their sound. Lead vocalist Martin Eden has one of those voices which just go right through you (at times has a bit of a Peter GABRIEL delivery). Also of note is the excellent guitar work of Udo Lang and keyboard work of Tobias Budnowski who play with great emotion and sound performances. Highlight for me is opening track "Start It" which has been played to death and represents in my opinion perhaps their most expressive song ever. This is a great neo-prog like album which I have and continue to enjoy very much… a great discovery. (http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=195)

    Latin pop/rock band from Spain El Ultimo de la Fila was formed in the mid-'80s by Manolo García and Quimi Portet. Manolo was previously playing in a band called los Rápidos, along with José Luis Pérez, Luis Visiers, and Antonio Fidel. Quimi was playing in a group called Kul de Mandril. When these musicians met in 1982, they decided to start a new project named los Burros, inviting Jordi Vila and Antonio Fidel to join in, signing up to an independent label called Belter soon after. When los Burros broke up, García and Portet started playing as El Ultimo de la Fila, debuting with an album called Cuando La Pobreza Entra Por La Puerta, El Amor Sale Por La Ventana, which was followed by 1986's Enemigos De Lo Ajeno. A year later, the duet had the opportunity to perform at the Amnesty International show in Barcelona, playing along with Bruce Springsteen, Sting, and Peter Gabriel. The cover says "Frank Zappa's Best Band Live at the Broome County Veterans Arena, Binghampton, NY March 17 1988"; the spine says "St Patrick's Day". The front cover has a picture of Zappa in a pink sweater, playing a Stratocaster. Back cover has track list and black & white picture of Zappa's head with a marine cap and a mike.     Canadian thrush Celine Dion is primarily a singles artist, which is a good thing, because the soaring, epic style she brings to nearly all of her material is thrilling in four-minute bursts, but nearly overwhelming at album length. Falling into You is Dion's finest attempt to temper that approach–mixing low-key love songs and dance pop between showstoppers such as "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" and the Up Close and Personal movie theme, "Because You Loved Me." Dion's take on Tina Turner's Phil Spector experiment "River Deep, Mountain High" is game, but there's little doubt which singer hails from the Great White North and which one is from Nutbush.

    Great German band that is very much in the Marillion/Aragon style. Excellent Fish-like vocals. They have a single release out entitled Pure. Anyone who enjoys prog rock of this nature should have this in their collection! Chandelier is generally touted as Germany's answer to Marillion. There is some merit to that general idea, especially between singer Martin Eden and Fish, but outside of that comparison, there are many other similarities as well. Pure is their first album, released in 1990, and is not bad for a debut album it offers although it doesn't really break any new ground. The playing is impressively tight, the songs are well written, the vocals (in English) are quite good, and the lyrics even stand on their own, it's just that they could be so much better if they were not so intent in following in the wake of others.
