Very few bands make it to their 11th album. Even fewer do so with the same fire and fury that defined their early years. But Machine Head isn't just any band. For over three decades, the personification of determination, Founder/Vocalist/Guitarist Robb Flynn, has led Machine Head on an uncompromising path - one fueled by defiance, reinvention, and a relentless pursuit of evolution. Now, with 'UNATØNED', they've once again sharpened their sound into its most direct and impactful form to date. Determined to challenge himself, Flynn set strict songwriting parameters for 'UNATØNED', shorter, more focused songs with a decidedly American feel, unconventional key changes, and shifting structures that break expectations. That self-imposed restraint resulted in a lean, unrelenting album that captures Machine Head at their most potent.

Undisputed masters of murderous riffs, pugnacious grooves and ferocious hooks since 1991, MACHINE HEAD are long established as one of the most influential and incendiary bands in the metal world. From genre-expanding triumphs like 1994’s debut, „Burn My Eyes“, 1999’s „The Burning Red“ to the planet-conquering might of 2007’s „The Blackening“, to the new life injected in 2014’s „Bloodstone and Diamonds“, MACHINE HEAD have carved a singular path across the globe for over three decades now with no end in sight. Whether it be marathon 3 hour live performances, or millions of albums sold worldwide, and accolades both big and small, there aren’t too many “distractions” clouding up the vision of Guitarist/Vocalist/Founder Robb Flynn these days.

Burn My Eyes is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Machine Head, released on August 9, 1994 by Roadrunner Records. The album's themes generally tie into the social disorder and corresponding inner tension that the band was exposed to in their native Oakland, California, reflected in Robb Flynn's lyrics, such as the Los Angeles Riots of 1992 and the Waco Siege of 1993. The album shipped over 400,000 copies worldwide, becoming Roadrunner Records's best selling debut album until the release of Slipknot's debut album. This is Machine Head's only studio album to feature drummer Chris Kontos.
